Elle-Djazair (Part of DzFest)

Elle-Djazair is an all-female exhibition that explores contemporary chronicles of Algerian identity representation. As reflected through different visual mediums, from photography, digital art and performance, this collective show unveils powerful parallels between UK-Algeria Diaspora generations and the complex connections to the motherland.

 

Bringing together the work of renowned and established artists: Houria Niati, Anissa Berkane, Hamida Zèd and Jamila Boughelaf for her debut exhibition of drawings & paintings and award winning journalist & photographer Venetia Menzies.

The exhibition opens DzFest (The Algerian Festival for the Arts & Culture in the UK), an initiative born out of the result and a culmination of the continuous work by Algerian creatives & professionals to bring Londoners a taste of the very rich & vibrant yet unknown Algerian culture.

Exploring together with the Algerian diaspora, the themes of identity and culture regeneration through a very rich programme of Arts, Exhibitions, theatre, talks, literature, culinary, dance, performances, rhythms, history, films and of course Music!
